§ We came to this world to LIVE OUT LOUD!

The Power of Staying Busy

Sep 3, 2019

Staying busy to stay one step ahead of our feelings gets a bad rep but sometimes it’s really helpful. I know that it’s healthy to grieve my oldest daughter’s departure and yet I’m so thankful that I am super busy with my own passion project.

I interviewed a spiritual business expert yesterday for my upcoming Extraordinary Life After 40 Summit and she told me that the trick to getting so much accomplished professionally while enjoying the rest of your life is to have a lot of projects going at the same time, to take action on all of them and not sweat the small stuff. To trust that some will move forward while some will stall. If you have a lot of projects which you’re passionate about, you won’t get too hung up if any particular project doesn’t go as you plan.

I started thinking about how this applies to the rest of our lives, especially to motherhood.

Sure, we know that our children are their own people and aren’t really “ours”. We just get them for a period of time that goes by way too fast.

Yet, we invest so much love, care, time and energy into our babies that it becomes really tough to let them go.

If there’s one thing I am reminded of as my oldest leaves home, it’s how important it is to have my own life as a woman and to cultivate my own interests and passions, outside of the family.

And I don’t mean taking the weekly pottery class or going on an annual trip with your girlfriends.

I mean finding something that you’re so passionate about that you are willing to let it take most of your time and energy and still be excited about it. Something that will give your life deep meaning and purpose once you are no longer involved in the daily care of your children.

I am so grateful to be so passionate about the online summit that I’m putting together. Every day I get to get dressed up, do my make-up and talk to some of the biggest experts on the planet about how to uplevel every area of our lives. How to balance our hormones, have fulfilling relationships, mind blowing sex and vibrant health, live our purpose, create success and abundance and more.

These women inspire me and excite me about what’s possible for our lives as women as we move from our 40’s to our 50’s and beyond. One of the sex experts told me that I was just a baby and that the best is yet to come. How’s that for something to look forward to.

Of course, I still miss my baby but I’m just so grateful to have my own passion project that keeps me so busy, engaged and excited about the future.

So, what about you? Do you have something you’re that passionate about? Something that leaves you excited about the future? If not, what can you do to cultivate it?

As always, I love hearing from you so feel free to leave a comment below or get in touch at natalie@nataliematushenko.com.

Happy Tuesday!

xoxo,

Natalie
