Powerful Ritual to Make the Most of the Solar Eclipse

Aug 21, 2017

I usually write my blog posts on Tuesdays but I had to write one out today because the 24 hours surrounding a solar eclipse is an especially powerful time to clear out all of the negative gunk and set your intention (think of it as a spiritual plan) to manifest all that you want in your life!

I’m spending a few hours today reviewing my life – what works and what no longer suits me – and using that as a basis to set some powerful intentions and plans for what I want to create in the next 6 months (as the energy of the eclipse lingers and supports us in being powerful and attracting influence and wealth).

And I’m inviting you to do the same!

How do you do it?

There are many ways and of course I invite you to personalize it and make it your own but here’s what I’m going to do.

Solar Eclipse Ritual

What you need: Sage or Cedar stick, candle, matches, heatproof dish to burn pieces of paper, paper, pen, journal/notebook, about an hour of time

What to do:

As close to the time of the eclipse as possible (although if you can’t get to it until after work this evening, that’s fine too!), do the following:

Step 1: Smudge the area where you are with sage or cedar to clear and purify the energy. If you don’t have smudge sticks, don’t worry about it. Just set your intention to purify the space that you are in and envision it filling with white light.

Step 2: Take at least 5 deep cleansing breaths to get centered and grounded.

Step 3: Light a candle and invoke the energy of the divine in whatever way you resonate with. Something like “Dear _____________ (fill in the blank with what you call your spiritual higher power), please accompany me and support me in this ritual as I let go of all that no longer serves me in my life and set my intention for what I want to create in the next 6 months. Please support me in having clarity of vision so that I create my life from a place of connection to divine energy, abundance, possibility and love.”

Step 4: Grab a pen and paper and write down the following categories:

  • Family life
  • Career
  • Love relationships
  • Friendships
  • Community life
  • Health and Fitness
  • Personal Growth
  • Intellectual Growth
  • Environment
  • Recreation/adventures
  • Spiritual Life
  • Creative Life

Note: These categories are just a suggestion based on what’s important to many people. You can however personalize these categories to reflect what is most important to you.

Step 5: For each category, write down what no longer works for you in your life.

Step 6: State out loud “I am willing and setting my full intention to let go of _________ (Read all that is on your list, with intention imagining how good it would feel to let go of all of these).”

Step 7: Burn the list, setting your intention that the fire is burning up all that no longer serves you in your life and transforming it into all that you want to create. Note: If the piece of paper is too large to burn safely, you can rip it up into smaller pieces and burn them one at a time.

Step 8: Pull out your journal or notebook and write down what you want to create in all of the areas listed above. Stretch yourself but make it believable!

Step 9: Powerfully intend it! You can say something like “Dear ______________ (however you call your spiritual higher power or even just use your own name if you don’t connect with the concept of a higher power), I intend to manifest the following in my life over the next six months: _______________________ (read your list with intention and feeling. Visualize it and imagine how it would feel to have all of these pieces manifest in your life). Please send me the necessary tools, people, energy, wisdom, growth and life circumstances to turn my intentions into reality. Thank you for all if the ways that you support me in all that is for my highest good and for the highest good of those I love. Thank you for _______________ (list 5 things that you are already grateful for right now at this moment.”

Step 10: Keep what you wrote and review it regularly, at least monthly.

So that’s it! To make this ritual even more powerful, invite others to join you – your friends, spouse, kids, coworkers (depending on the type of work you do). Group energy makes everything even more powerful!

I would love, love, love to hear from you how this ritual worked for you. Or if you have another ritual that you do, I would love to learn about it too. Just head over to my blog post and share.

Enjoy today!

xoxo,
Natalie
