How I Manage to Be Happy in the Midst of Chaos

Feb 12, 2019

How can you be happy when you have just too much on your plate and not enough time to do it all?

I don’t know about you but I can easily slip into bitching and moaning about how much I have to do as I run from one thing to another.

But since this has been my Happiness Experiment month (read all about it here), I catch myself and notice that as I’m complaining, I’m not happy nor having any fun.

And that’s gotta change.

After all, with 3 kids, a business, a hubby, friends, 2 kittens and a house, I’m always rushing around and have way too much to do.

And how lucky am I to have said kids, hubby, friends…?!!!

I was even complaining about all the trip planning I have to do for this year (Florida, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Hungary, France, Ireland, and South Africa)… p-p-please girl, get it together and appreciate what you’ve got!!!

I definitely needed an attitude adjustment if I wanted to be happy.

So I decided to put both sides of my brain to use and come up with a happiness system that works for me.

Right Brain:

The number one thing that helps me reset and get back to happy quickly is to connect spiritually.

For me, my connection is to the Universe and tapping into its energy and sense of flow reminds me that…

EVERYTHING IS ALWAYS PERFECT just as it is and THAT IT WILL ALL GET DONE in divine timing according to the divine plan.

How do I connect to this divine flow?

Lately it’s through a process called Havening, followed by an energy clearing  visualization, a few moments of gratitude and my intention setting for the next 3 years and for the day.

Believe it or not, it just takes 5 minutes and I’m back, grooving with the Universe.

Left Brain:

Once I’m flowing, I put the practical part of my brain to use and make a list of my absolute non-negotiable priorities for the month, week and day.

I schedule them into my planner.

AND I LET EVERYTHING ELSE GO.

That’s right – some day when the kids are grown and life slows down, I will have time to get to all the other stuff that’s just not a non-negotiable priority.

For now, I just want to be happy and enjoy all the richness and fullness of my life. Nothing else matters much.

What about you? Are you up for taking on the Happiness Experiment with me?

I would love to hear from youand create more community so leave a comment below or reach out to me by email at natalie@nataliematushenko.com.

Happy Tuesday!

xoxo,
