5 Years After I Came Out of the Spiritual Closet

I still remember how terrified I was before I clicked on ‘publish’ to make public my first blog post nearly four years ago. Palms sweaty, heart racing, I knew there was no going back. I was coming out of the spiritual closet.

Even though I’d been coaching and teaching personal growth for fifteen years at that point, I was still afraid to show the world who I was authentically. I was playing small.
Conditioned as I was since childhood that standing out meant being judged, criticized, even punished, I was terrified to write about my deepest truth – my challenges, my struggles and my triumphs.
Everyone might see it… My friends from high school. From college. My parents. Extended family members. Yikes!
I was raised to ‘be strong’ and analytical, to not show feelings, and to be successful in a world that didn’t value much who I was… sensitive, intuitive, spiritual.
It took over two decades of therapy to overcome my childhood conditioning and come out of the spiritual closet, yet the payoff was huge! Bigger than anything I could have imagined!
As my blog turns four years old this month, I joyfully reflect on how far I’ve come and how far we’ve all come together!

And it got me thinking, where are the places you’re holding yourself small? Holding back? Where is fear is keeping you from moving forward, setting a boundary or growing into the woman you’re meant to be?

I made this video for you to inspire you to show up as your authentic self too. The payoff is greater than anything you can imagine!
