§ We came to this world to LIVE OUT LOUD.
Grace and Ease
These days my #1 goal is cultivating inner peace.
Nothing else is nearly as important.
I’ve gotten to the point of my life where I realize that it’s not what’s going on but how I react to what’s going on that makes all the difference in the world.
Be it a huge work deadline or project, a house move, big issue with one of the kids or health issues – I have learned that I can navigate these with stress and worry or grace and faith.
I choose grace and faith.
Getting to a place of grace and faith hasn’t been easy and it has required a lot of work.
It takes me nearly 2 hours each morning to take care of my body, mind and spirit so I can flow through my days feeling good.
Here’s what I do now:
- Work out, cardio, weights, yoga/stretching (1 hour)
- TRE (20 min)
- Visualization/energy clearing/intention setting (10 min)
- Meditation (20 min)
Of course, there are some days when I don’t have two hours but I still make it a point to squeeze in self-care whenever possible. Here are some ideas:
- I walk whenever possible. I take the stairs up 10 flights instead of the elevator. I run errands on foot.
- I take a few minutes to stretch every day.
- I do energy clearing exercises and set intentions as I am driving or walking.
- I welcome the new day and acknowledge my gratitude for the new day as I am sitting on the toilet or brushing my teeth.
- I make it a point to practice mindfulness many times throughout the day. When stuck at a red light or in traffic, I focus on my breathing for a few minutes. When the phone rings, I take a deep breath and focus on it for a few seconds. Same thing while I turn on my laptop. You get the idea.
- With the last practice of mindfulness throughout the day, I once heard a Buddhist monk say that it’s more helpful to practice being mindful for a few seconds to a minute at various points throughout the day than it is to sit down to meditate for 20 minutes and then not think about being mindful again until the next day.
I like to remember that when I’m short on time, I can still take care of my body, mind and spirit.
And so can you.
So what about you? What helps you navigate your day with grace and faith?
I would love to hear from you so feel free to leave a comment below.
Happy Tuesday!
Natalie
